To fulfill a child’s wish, visit Joy of Giving Week 2017
It’s time to celebrate the festival of giving! Daan Utsav (Joy of Giving Week) celebrated in India between 2nd to 8th October, is a time of generosity, unity and above all happiness. Across socio-economic strata and cultural heritage, Indians all over the country give, and give whole heartedly to their family, friends, employees and fellow citizens.
This year you can experience the joy of giving on a whole new level by helping to transform a child’s life forever. Akshaya Patra reaches out to over 1.4 million children in 10,845 schools across the country with the tasty, nutritious mid-day meal on every school day, believing that “no child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger.” Your contributions could help us reach out to more.
Play an active role in India’s biggest philanthropic event by contributing to the less privileged members of society, sharing your time, money and skills. And what better time to consider giving a child the helping hand they need to succeed, than during Daan Utsav.
The festival whose mission is to celebrate giving, has been supported to a huge extent through the combined efforts of NGOs, corporates, media houses, educational institutions, local citizens and others in India. Last year, the Joy of Giving 2014 saw a massive outpouring of generosity with over three million people participating in over 1,100 ‘gifting events’ across over 100 cities. This overwhelming response helped raise tens of crores of rupees in money and resources, and millions in hours donated, all in the name of giving to the less fortunate.
This year we can take our efforts a step further. For Daan Utsav 2015, let us open our eyes, hearts and minds to the plights of those in need. Let us revel in the Joy of Giving.
